Dr. Seuss’ How The UPS Stole Christmas In New York
Holiday shopping can be incredibly stressful. In days of yore, we had to physically go to every store in town just to try to find the perfect gift. Obviously, online shopping has helped ease the burden greatly.
Unfortunately, the burden is then placed on delivery workers, typically the United Parcel Service. Turns out, they've been making the holidays miserable for their workers.

Wage Theft for the Holidays
Christmas wouldn't happen without UPS. With so many packages being bought online or shipped to family, they play an integral part in keeping the holiday moving. These are the busiest days of the year for drivers, and it turns out they've been eating the cost of operation without even knowing it.
UPS is being accused of failing to record all the hours worked by its seasonal employees, shortchanging their checks, and requiring off-the-clock labor that seriously damages these drivers financial standings, during a time where they need it the most.
New York Comes to Fight
On December 15th, New York State Attorney General Letitia James filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that these practices violated several New York State labor laws.
It's not just the Attorney General that's on this, Teamsters local 804 carries the same sentiment, and has vowed to help in whatever way they can to bring justice to light. The Office of the AG has made it clear that these are not just isolated incidents, rather a deliberate and planned attack on lower-wage workers to save a buck for corporate greed.
