Mysterious Light Show Over Upstate New York Sparks Wild Theory
Do You Believe?
Summer in New York is prime UFO spotting season; clear skies, long nights, and plenty of rural, quiet areas where strange lights aren’t just cars from Route 9 traffic heading up to Lake George.
Last night, people all over Upstate New York stopped in their tracks and stared at the sky, wondering if Gotham needed Batman or if aliens had finally decided to drop in for a visit.
A strange, glowing orb hovered high above the treetops, looking a lot like the Bat Signal had been beamed over much of Upstate New York, and hundreds of comments, pics, and videos appeared all over social media discussing it.
A man named David McElwee posted some photos to a Schroon Lake Facebook group, and in a short time, the post went viral as others who also witnessed it shared it.

A Vulcan Centaur rocket launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying a military navigation satellite.
The source says that the 198-foot-tall rocket blasted into the night sky at 8:56 PM, creating “a spectacular sky‑lighting show” visible from afar.
Its exhaust plume, caught in the upper atmosphere, created a dazzling “space jellyfish” effect visible for hundreds of miles, including much of New York, sources say.
No aliens. No Batman. Still, one heck of a show.
