Tragedy in Maine
Last week, we reported on an unfortunate story about the father and daughter from Upstate New York who visited Maine for a hiking trip that ended in tragedy.
At the time of the report, Rangers said they found the body of the father, but they continued searching for the daughter's body, which they found a day later.
What Happened?
Sources say that Tim Keiderling, 58, and his daughter Esther Keiderling, 28, both of Ulster Park (located about an hour south of Albany), left Abol Campground on Sunday to hike to the summit of Katahdin.

State Park Rangers led the search for two missing hikers last seen on the Katahdin Tablelands in Maine last Sunday at around 10:15 a.m., heading towards the summit.
Rangers say the Keiderlings' vehicle was still in the day-use parking lot on Monday morning when they started the search.
Autopsy Performed on the Daughter
According to a report from WMTW, on Thursday, the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed that blunt force injuries caused the death of Esther Keiderling, 28, from Ulster County.
Baxter State Park officials say it appears the hiker slid downhill off the snow-covered trail and collided with boulders about 1000′ feet from where her father was found.
According to sources, Esther's father, Tim Keiderling's cause of death is still pending further studies, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told WABI on Thursday.
