Empty Retail Space Becoming 2nd HomeGoods Store in Albany County
After major retailer Bed Bath & Beyond closed locations across the country, many of those shuttered stores remain empty. There is an empty one in Albany County that is being transformed into a new HomeGoods store.
Where is the New HomeGoods Store Being Built?
This will be the second HomeGoods location in Albany County. The new HomeGoods is occupying the shut-down Bed Bath & Beyond inside the Glenmont Plaza at 392 Feura Bush Road in Glenmont. It is right next to its sister company Marshalls.
When Will the New HomeGoods at the Glenmont Plaza Open?
There is no set date as to when the HomeGoods store will open but they have been advertising with signage for job openings for that location.
There is More Construction Happening in the Glenmont Plaza
Not only will the Glenmont Plaza get HomeGoods, but there is also construction near the entrance. They are currently putting up a separate building to house a Starbucks in the front part of the parking lot. It will be the first free-standing Starbucks in the town according to the Times Union. The Bethlehem Town Planning Board gave approval for the new building last year.
Where Are The Other HomeGoods Stores Located in the Capital Region?
Once this new HomeGoods is built in Glenmont, there would be five in the Capital Region. There are HomeGoods stores in Latham, Clifton Park, Wilton, and North Greenbush. The HomeGoods on Wade Road in Latham moved into a shuttered Babies 'R' Us store.
