Abercrombie & Fitch Is Finally Returning To The Capital Region

Finding clothing can be a chore. Worrying about sizes, styling, colors, etc. can feel like banging your head against a wall. That's why so many people have designated stores that they like to shop at, knowing exactly what they're getting from the get-go.

Abercrombie & Fitch is one of those stores, and it was incredibly popular in the Capital Region until its departure. Now, they're ready for their triumphant return, with a little something new...

Abercrombie & Fitch Returns

During its time, Abercrombie & Fitch operated a location in Crossgates Mall, and it was incredibly popular. That was, until the COVID-19 Pandemic sent 86 of their workers home due to layoffs in 2020. It didn't take long for the store to close permanently, and leave the Capital Region without an A&F location.

Finally, on June 29th, 2026, they announced their return. A&F will open a new location in Guilderland at the Stuyvesant Plaza. The location is expected to be open in 2027.

Abercrombie Kids

A&F's main store isn't all that's coming, they will also be opening an Abercrombie Kids store that focuses solely on children's wear. This is a huge get, as there is a massive shortage of stores that offer quality children's clothing, if any at all.

The Kids store will have apparel for toddlers and young children, allowing kids to style like kids again, and not just a 3 foot tall 40-year-old.

Both stores will be opening in the south side of Stuyvesant Plaza, right next to the new Free People Movement retail store, which opened its doors in 2025.
