Saratoga Race Course is one of the most historic sports venues in the world and they are hiring for this year's meet. There are hundreds of jobs available and employees can be hired as young as fifteen years old. One of my first jobs was working as an usher at the Saratoga Race Course when I was just sixteen.

The Parkhurst Field opened in 1906 and was home to the New York State League's J.A.G.'s (Johnstown-Amsterdam-Gloversville) minor league affiliate of the Brooklyn Superbas. One of the central characters in the 1989 movie "Field of Dreams" was "Moonlight Doc Graham". He played on this field in 1907. He was a baseball player and a doctor with hopes to play in the big leagues. The Parkhurst Field has been home to Guilderland Little League and has just begun a major transformation. The $3.6 million project will be completed by 2023 transforming it into a destination for travel little league teams and honoring its rich baseball history. The Capital Region has some amazing shows coming like Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Cody Johnson, and Luke Combs that takes us into the fall. But there are great country acts playing throughout New York. Another concert was just announced and this time it's a country superstar duo!

It is the end of an era for a popular Italian deli in Schenectady. La Gioia has been a staple in the Goose Hill neighborhood for over three decades and it will close its doors this weekend. As this specialty store closes a new Italian deli will be opening soon just two miles away.
Back in April of 2021, a lift truck carrying heavy equipment hit the Sitterly Road overpass causing major damage and a traffic nightmare. The Department of Transportation has been working with the town and motorists to temporarily open it while they do their work. But now they had to close it to do the major repairs. It will be closed for three months.
There are a ton of big box stores in the Clifton Park area that have garden centers inside. That is why two entrepreneurs created a local and unique shop in Clifton Park that carries plants, has a florist, and also sells some home goods. It is called The Plant Hatch
