Ice, Ice Castles...

While I’m still trying to figure out how to properly use a Snow Joe without launching it into a snowbank, there’s a man in Upstate New York out here casually building full-blown ice castles in his front yard.

Dennis Travis of Endicott has done it again, unveiling his latest frozen masterpiece, “Castle 2026,” a stunning, hand-crafted ice castle that looks like something straight out of a winter fairy tale.

According to WBNG, Travis has been sculpting ice for more than 50 years, but hadn't been able to build one of this magnitude for some time due to a lack of snow.

How Long Did it Take Him?

According to a recent post on his Facebook page, Dennis said he spent two weeks and an incredible 116 hours working outside in the freezing cold to bring the castle to life. And the crazy part is that he says he didn’t use a single tape measure or ruler while building it.

Dennis credits his son, Matt, with capturing incredible photos and videos of the finished creation, showing off just how detailed and massive the structure really is.

It Won't Last Forever

With warmer temperatures in the forecast, Dennis is inviting anyone who wants to see it in person to stop by soon before Mother Nature begins to reclaim it.

You can find “Castle 2026” at 1625 Bornt Hill Road in Endicott. If you’re up for a road trip, it might just be the coolest yard in New York right now.
