All education is good education, but are some schools better at imparting knowledge than others?

That's the question the U.S. News & World Report seeks to answer every year with their 'Best Colleges' list, highlighting the best public and private universities across America, ad some Capital region schools are being shown some love.

UAlbany in the Top-100

The 2027 edition of the U.S. News & World Report 'Best Colleges' has just released, and we're seeing some familiar faces. One of the big stories is UAlbany's rise to national prominence. They landed in at #121 out of National Universities, but #58 in Top Public Schools.

It's a school for success, with a 56% graduation rate on 4 year degrees, and students making over $50,000 a year on average after leaving the school.

With a record breaking incoming class of 3,500, UAlbany has begun to show why they are one of the premiere universities in New York, and now America has been put on notice as well.

RPI Makes a Name for Itself Again

In addition to UAlbany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy, found itself high up on the list as well. It was ranked #69 in Top National Universities, and #40 in Top Public Universities.

Recently, one of their graduates was the captain of the Artemis II mission to the moon, and their alumni are some of the most accomplished in the country.

Everyone loves to talk about NYC as the center of the state, but Upstate has been making a name for themselves in the field of education.
