Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Get Involved To End Breast Cancer!
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is underway and there are several ways you can help build awareness and raise funds to fight breast cancer!
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc, in 2024 alone more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Increasing awareness, early detection, and advances in treatment are key elements to increasing survival rates, and there are several ways during October you can make a difference by supporting the cause!
- The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure takes place nationwide, including in Manchester, Vermont on Saturday, October 5th. It features 5k runs and walks with funds going to breast cancer research.
- The 15th Annual Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk will take place Saturday, October 15th at Tallmadge Park and will raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
- The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk also raises funds for breast cancer research and will take place on Saturday, October 20th at Washington Park in Albany.
