Saratoga Stands Above the Rest

USA Today is currently accepting votes for the best Small College Town in America. These are cities with a population of under 50,000 with at least one higher education institution in their borders.

Saratoga Springs is currently on the list, and gaining traction. It won't win without a fight though. It's up against icons like Oxford, MS (home of Ole Miss) and Boone, NC (home of App State). Sure, these are home to major colleges, and have a lot to offer outside of campus, but can they really stack up against everything Saratoga has going for it?

What Does Saratoga Have Going for It?

Let's get the obvious out of the way: it's drop dead gorgeous. I mean, your wife on her wedding day gorgeous. Nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks, it's kind of hard to not be that pretty, but there's a lot more to it.

From the race track to SPAC, from Broadway to congress park, there is literally something for everyone in Saratoga. A bustling nightlife, active music scene, dozens of trails and hikes to take, you'll find what you're looking for there.

It's also home to not one, but two colleges: Empire State University and Skidmore College, so you have your choice of education too.
