There's a Hidden World Beneath Lake George
With so much attention on Lake George this week, it got us thinking about what's lurking beneath the surface. No, not rabid beavers... we're talking about a fascinating collection of real-life underwater treasures.

Over the centuries, boats, military vessels, cars, airplanes, and other artifacts have settled on the lake bottom, and many of them are well preserved.
The Radeau
Locals will say the most famous is The Radeau, a 250-year-old British military warship from the French and Indian War. Divers have described it as looking so pristine that it almost seems like a Hollywood movie prop.
Beyond the historic shipwrecks, recreational divers have also discovered some unexpected sights beneath the surface. Near Hearthstone Point, there's a sunken airplane, an old car, a boat, and plenty of fish that seem just as curious about the divers as the divers are about them.
