
For the Love of Pickles! Popular Capital Region Festival Returns
Kind of a Big Dill
If you relish the thought of spending an entire afternoon eating, drinking, and celebrating pickles, this weekend could be kind of a big dill.

And they aren't just throwing a couple of pickle spears on a table and calling it a festival.
Picklepalooza is happening Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th, from noon until 5 PM in the Pizza Garden at Indian Ladder Farms.

They're Literally Pickling Everything
Here are some of the more noteworthy food and beverages as well as the entertainment for the weekend.
- Mr. Pickle is a 4% ABV Gose co-fermented with pickles, while Mrs. Pickle is a 6.9% cider made with fresh New York State cucumbers and dill.
- Pickleback Shots: Choose bourbon or cucumber vodka from Albany Distilling Company and take the shot from an actual hollowed-out pickle.
- DeFazio's is also getting in on the action with a specialty Pickle Pizza topped with sliced pickles, mozzarella, fontina, garlic, onions and dill sauce.
- There will also be live music both days, plus vendors selling everything from jarred pickles and pickle-themed goodies to cotton candy, popcorn, hot sauce and more.
- One Wing Duck performs Saturday, while Flying Rob & Friends take over Sunday.

So grab your fellow pickle people and get ready to dill with it.
Picklepalooza is Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 PM, and according to the press release, some specialty foods and drinks are available only while supplies last; you may want to get there early. Don't get yourself into a pickle.
