Best Moments from the 2026 Winter Games

The Olympic flame has officially been extinguished, and what a run it was for Team USA. From emotional moments to jaw-dropping performances, the 2026 Winter Games in Milano Cortina delivered a few weeks we won’t forget anytime soon.

Alysia Liu

One of the biggest breakout stars was Alysia Liu, who absolutely charmed the world with her stunning performances on the ice. Her energy, grace, and pure joy on the ice made her one of the most talked-about athletes of the Games — and an easy fan favorite. It didn't hurt that she came off the ice after a gold-medal worthy performance, shouting "That's what I'm ********** talking about!!"   Loved it!

USA Hockey

On the ice rink, it was sweet redemption as both the U.S. men’s and women’s hockey teams beat Canada on their way to gold. USA goalie Connor Hellebuyck stood on his head for much of the gold medal game, making one improbable clutch save after another.

But for me, nothing could top the image of USA star Jack Hughes celebrating with the American flag draped around his neck — and missing a few teeth he had just lost in the chaos. Hockey players are just built differently.

Photo with Fallen Brother's Children

The most emotional moment came when Team USA members honored the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. After winning gold, players brought Johnny’s children down from the stands for a heartfelt photo — a powerful tribute to two brothers whose legacy inspired the entire run.

The Team USA Hockey brotherhood is cemented in stone, and these boys are going to be a force for a long time.

Can't Forget About...Curling!

Curling once again proved wildly entertaining. Whether you watched every macth or just tuned in for the drama (and yes… maybe questioned a few Canadian stones), it became one of the most talked-about events of the Games.

Team Canada Gets Silver and a Stuffy

And last but not least… if you’re Team Canada, nothing had to sting worse than losing the gold medal game in overtime — then standing on the podium holding a stuffed mascot while Team USA celebrated their hearts out nearby. Talk about a rough souvenir to take home.

When it was all said and done, Team USA finished second overall with 33 medals (12 gold, 12 silver, 9 bronze), trailing only Norway’s 41 total. Not a bad haul at all — and plenty of unforgettable moments that gave us chills, laughs, and a whole lot of USA pride.
