Victory Mills – I Want To Write You A Theme Song, But Do You Still Exist?

I'm happy to be back from a great vacation, but chomping at the bit to write a new "Your Town Thursday" theme song.  I had a request from a listener to do one for Victory Mills, but I have a question first.

I know where it is.  It's in Saratoga County near Schuylerville.  But I also was told by a Facebook "friend" that I had better write the song before April 1st, because the town is in danger of being dissolved.  I googled this subject, but haven't seen any definite decision one way or another.  If someone out there can set me straight on this, it would  help me a lot before I start writing this.

Now if the town is still going strong, then I would love it if you could share some info about it.  Here's the type of stuff I'd be looking for:

Name of the Town (duhh)

What it's best known for?

Well known attractions or businesses (I can actually sneak you in a free plug!)

Funny quirks (the red light in the middle of town hasn't worked in 10 years etc)

Quick historical facts (don't get all  "Wikipedia" on me- just a few bullet points will do)
