New York State is filled with historic towns that offer breathtaking scenery. Think blue lakes, rolling hills, and mountains that change with the seasons. These charming towns have well-preserved downtowns and unique landmarks showcasing American history.
There are lots of reasons why New England is such a popular destination for vacationers and tourists alike. This is especially true during the Summer. And with such a rich history, as well as being so aesthetically pleasing, Massachusetts is at the heart of all those potential destinations. And it's not just the bigger cities of the Bay State that people are flocking to either. There are definitely a good share of small towns that have a certain look about them that make for quite the picturesque destination. In fact, Massachusetts is where you can find five of the "most picturesque small towns in America".
There are hundreds of small towns spread all over New York and 5 of them are among the best in the county. In fact, the top 4 small towns can all be found in the Empire State. And you probably won't believe where.
We all know that we have beautiful small towns in and around the Capital Region. A new list is out from US News featuring the top 50 most beautiful small towns in America. There are three from our area that made the list including one that we would all agree on.
You might be surprised to find out that there aren't very many Capital Region Towns on the list of New York's worst small towns from our friends at Roadsnacks.com! Or, maybe you knew all along how great the tiny towns around our state's capital really are...
