Your Town Thursday

I want to write a song this week about a small town.  I mean a very small town.  Do you qualify?

This is a "part two" of sorts.  I had actually taken a shot at this town last year, but never included everything that I should have due to time constraints, so I put out the call for a second song parody about this great Capital Region town.  Here is the result below

I looked it up, and YES, I'm correct - I did write a song for Glens Falls last year. (There have been so many, I'm starting to have to jar my memory).  But I don't think I got all of the information in - I rarely do in a 2 minute song.  So let's try for round two, shall we?

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was here, but I'm told that you guys need some "love".  What better way to show you that than with the personalized song about your town?  Of course, I'm going to need some help!

OK, Latham.  I have to hand it to you.  You ruined my theory about writing these songs.  Let me explain, and then I'll play you what I have for Latham, NY.

My Your Town Thursday segment emphasizes the small towns in the Capital Region.   Well, equal time this week for the bigger suburbs.

It took me a few years to finish a song for this town.  I don't know what happened, but it was listener Amy Godfrey that brought this to light.  She shamed me into doing my job, I guess!  LOL  With that in mind, here's the completed song.

I gave this town a try a few years ago for Your Town Thursday. I never got enough information to do anything substantial.  It is my mission to finish what I started, but I need your information very very quickly.  We call the segment Your Town THURSDAY - any questions?

I've gotten several messages  from people in Rexford, NY.   Is that in Saratoga County? I know so little about it.   I definitely would like to know more. In fact I would love to write a theme song for it for this week's  Your Town Thursday.

I come from a very small town in Eastern Long Island called Mattituck.  I  have lived up here for almost 35 years, but I'm haven't forgotten my little town.  Are you proud of yours?  Well, let's put a song together for it!

This one was about 3 weeks in the making.  We've been just so busy traveling with the show to colleges and other places that I've had very little time to concentrate on Your Town Thursday songs. Time to get back to work!
