90 Minutes West of Albany, Turning Stone Has a Whole New Look

It's Been a Few Years

I've always enjoyed a trip to Turning Stone Resort Casino, even if it's been a few years since my last visit. With casinos a little closer to home these days, I haven't made the drive recently, but I still remember catching a concert and some pro boxing there a while back and being impressed by everything the resort had to offer.

Now, there may be another reason to head about 90 minutes west of Albany.

370 Million Dollar Expansion

Turning Stone has officially completed the first phase of its massive $370 million Evolution expansion, opening months ahead of schedule.

The biggest addition is The Crescent Hotel, a new 258-room luxury tower that's connected directly to the casino, restaurants, entertainment venues, and gaming floor. Also open is Salt, Land and Sea, an upscale restaurant on the seventh floor offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Of course, Turning Stone has long been known for more than just gaming. The resort features award-winning golf courses, a full-service spa, great restaurants, nightlife at Exit 33, and one of Upstate New York's top concert venues.

Who's Playing There?

Speaking of concerts, there's a strong lineup still on the schedule this year, including Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Brantley Gilbert, The Black Keys, and more.

The final piece of the expansion, a massive conference and event center, is expected to open around Labor Day.

If you're looking for a weekend getaway without traveling too far, Turning Stone might deserve another spot on your list. It certainly earned one on mine.
