Saratoga Springs ‘Hidden Horseshoes’ Treasure Hunt Begins Soon!
You may remember when Saratoga Springs had beautifully painted fiberglass horses throughout the city or the giant painted fiberglass ballet slipper.
The next activity that is aimed at bringing the city together has the beauty of the horses and a ballet slipper but with an added twist and a fun treasure hunt.
What is the Next Saratoga Springs Activity?
The whole community can get involved in "Find the Hidden Horseshoes". There are three hundred horseshoes that were formerly won by actual Saratoga racehorses painted and hidden. If you find it, you keep it!
What Are The Horseshoes Themes and Where Can We Look for Them?
The three hundred horseshoes will all be Spa City themed with health, history, and horses. They will be placed on public property in parks and trails throughout Saratoga Springs according to Saratogatodaynewspaper.com. The hidden horseshoes will be at eye level and no ladders or shovels are required. No horseshoes can be found on private property. If you do find more than one, you are asked to leave it for someone else.
The specific venues to look for the painted horseshoes are:
High Rock Park
Congress Park
Spring Run Trail
Waterfront Park
Bog Meadow Trail
What Do You Do If You Find a Hidden Horseshoe?
First of all, it's yours to keep! Thirty of the three hundred are decorated by local artists. If you do find one, it will have a number on it to scan. Take a picture of your hidden treasure and post it on the Saratoga Hidden Horseshoes website.
The Saratoga Hidden Horseshoes Event Starts on Earth Day, April 22nd.
