Santa Claus is Coming to the Capital Region! Here’s How to Track The Big Guy
In just a few days, the big guy will take to the skies and fly around the world delivering toys to good little boys and girls. Right now he's making his list and checking it twice.
There is a way your whole family can track Santa Claus as he travels the globe on Christmas Eve. Here is Santa and Comet in Helsinki, Finland.
How Can You Follow Santa Claus and His Sleigh?
NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been tracking Santa for over sixty-five years and their interactive website has made it fun while we all anticipate him traveling to our homes on Christmas Eve. The radar shows you how fast he is traveling and roughly the area or country he is in at any given time.
Will we be Able to Know When He's in the Capital Region?
Although we can see when he will be around New York state, we won't know exactly when he will be in the Capital Region. So you won't know when he will be sliding down your chimney. NORAD says that's because some kids may still be awake and Santa may have to check back at another time.
Is the NORAD site Just for Tracking Santa Claus?
No, as a matter of fact, the NORAD website has many different interactive things to do. Even though you must wait until Christmas Eve to track Santa, the website has plenty of stuff to do right now. You can watch movies about Santa, there is a gift shop to buy Santa gear, play interactive games, listen to Santa's favorite songs, learn about Santa and his sleigh in the Library, and learn all about NORAD. Also, there is a command center where there are people standing by to talk with everyone with questions from all over the world.
