A Capital Region man may have taken his love for Chick-fil-A a little too far, and police are hoping that someone will recognize the man who stole a rug donning the infamous logo of the popular fast food restaurant.

Pulled the Rug Out From Beneath Them

Police in North Greenbush say a man took his "fondness" too far on Saturday when he stole a floor mat featuring the fast food logo from inside the Chick-fil-A.

On their Facebook Page, the North Greenbush Police wrote that on Saturday, February 1st, a man walked in and ordered an "I would like to get arrested Deluxe with waffle fries" and then (walked out with) the floor mats emblazoned with the CFA logo."

Police Ask if Anyone Recognizes Rug Thief

The NG Police say restaurant management isn't looking to press charges; they want their rug back.  "At this point, management just wishes to get the rug back and they will not pursue charges, opting instead for a suspension of chicken nugs privileges (a far worse punishment, in our opinion). However, if the mat is not returned, they will pursue charges.

Police say the carpet caper was with another man who they didn't identify, but according to police, there was another person in the vehicle.

Charges Dropped If Rug is Brought to Police Station

For charges to be deferred, the mat must be returned to our station, not the restaurant. The North Greenbush Police say that the "offer will be on the table for only a few days, so we would like him to act fast."

Anyone who can identify him can contact Sgt. Deeb at (518)283-5323.
