RV Found, But No Sign of Missing NY Man Last Seen in Adirondacks

Missing New York Man Last Seen in Early August

New York State Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 73-year-old downstate New York man who was last seen in the Adirondacks earlier this month. Police say it's not unusual for him to go off the grid for short periods, but he hasn't been contacted in weeks.

According to State Police, Craig K. Streeter, 73, of Mahopac, was reported missing on August 17th.

The NYSP says that the search began after Forest Rangers located Streeter’s recreational vehicle at campsite 36 on Moose River Road in the town of Inlet. There was reportedly no known activity around the RV, and Rangers were unable to locate Streeter.

Additional law enforcement agencies were called in, and a multi-agency search remains active.

Known to Travel to Remote Areas

Police say Streeter is known to travel and camp in remote areas and that it wasn't unusual for him to be out of contact for an extended period of time,

However, authorities say the last known sighting of Streeter was back on August 2nd at a Stewart’s Shop in Indian Lake.

At the time, Streeter was wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt and jeans. Police say he left the Stewart’s in his RV and was also last heard from that same day.

State Police say there are currently no indications of foul play.

Have You Seen Craig Streeter?

Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have been camping or traveling along Moose River Road or in nearby remote camping areas and may have seen Streeter.
