Another Strange UFO Claim Reported in Upstate New York

Eyewitness Makes Otherworldly UFO Claim

I would like to think that if I ever encountered something potentially otherworldly, I'd be cool, calm, and collected. Realistically, I'd probably soil myself and drive home at a speed that would get me reported to authorities.

But one Upstate New York eyewitness claims he reacted very differently during a bizarre encounter near Chazy Lake.

According to a report submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), a witness identifying himself as military said he saw two mysterious blue orbs near Dannemora back on September 16th.

What Did He Claim to See?

The witness claimed the encounter began while he was driving, when a glowing orb appeared to trail behind his vehicle. He said a second orb appeared before the first moved away and reappeared over Chazy Lake.

Rather than flooring it out of there, the witness said he pulled over at an observation area to get a better look.

Wanted a Better Look

According to his account, the two objects moved rapidly around the area before eventually stopping over the middle of the lake. He estimated the objects to be roughly the size of a pickup truck and said they made no discernible noise.

After approximately two minutes, he claimed the objects hovered briefly before shooting straight upward and disappearing.

Was He Being Observed?

Perhaps the most interesting part is how the witness interpreted what he saw. He said he wasn't frightened and wondered whether the objects could have been some sort of “observation tools.”

Of course, an unidentified object is exactly that — unidentified. The report provides no independent evidence that these objects were extraterrestrial spacecraft, and NUFORC itself cautions that inclusion in its database isn't verification.

Chazy Lake No Stranger to Shady Encounters

But here's an interesting wrinkle: Chazy Lake has been the site of a UFO report before. In September 2015, another witness reported a detailed account of a bright orange-red light silently traveling over the lake.

That doesn't connect the two incidents, but it certainly adds a little local UFO lore to the story.
