If a tree limb falls into a street when no one is around, does it make a sound?

I mean, honestly it doesn't even matter because in this case people were around and could have been severely injured if not worse if a local mailman wasn't there to save the day!

“I couldn’t figure out what he was looking at,” Susan Barrett told WTEN. “It was just really odd. You don’t normally see a mailman walking down the middle of the road. All of a sudden he put his hands out and said ‘stop!'”

So, that's what she did and what happened next is the most shocking. Seconds after squealing her brakes on Garrison Road in Glens Falls, a large branch fell from a tree and landed across the width of the road she was driving on.

The mailman, John Richichi had heard a sound he described  "like you were bending a board." Within a couple of minutes he realized it was coming from a large tree near the road and as he saw a car coming he reacted.

After the incident happened, Barrett continued to explain to WTEN, “I just froze for a few minutes and my son turned and looked at me and said ‘we could have been killed.'”

This all happened on Richichi's 30th anniversary on the job. Congrats on a job well done and protecting a community at the same time!
