Parent's Worst Nightmare

Police Were Tipped Off in March

According to State Police, investigators were first notified of a possible child abuse incident on March 9th.

Working alongside the Clinton County Department of Social Services Child Protective Services and the Clinton County District Attorney's Office, investigators conducted what they described as a comprehensive investigation.

Police allege that multiple children between the ages of 1 and 2 were physically abused while attending the daycare between January 12th and March 5th, 2026. Investigators also allege that other employees were aware of the abuse and failed to report it as required by law.

Three Face Charges

As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Dillon M. Bronson of Plattsburgh faces charges including two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of failure to report suspected child abuse, and eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Amanda M. Rizzo, 40, and Autumn E. Stone, 29, both of Plattsburgh, were also charged with failure to report suspected child abuse and multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

All three were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date. State Police say the investigation remains ongoing.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

*It should be noted that this incident happened in March of 2026, and individuals were arrested several weeks ago. The Clinton County PIO was a bit delayed in their news release to the public.

This remains an active investigation, and additional information may be released as it becomes available. If you have updates, corrections, or additional verified information regarding this case, please email brian@wgna.com.
