Stuyvesant Plaza in Colonie continues to grow. This time they have tapped a popular clothing store to fill a retail space in 2025.

There is some big news for shoppers in the Capital Region. Anthropologie is coming to Stuyvesant Plaza in 2025. The upscale retailer, known for stylish women’s clothing, accessories, and home decor, has confirmed it will open its first store in the Albany area. Currently, the closest Anthropologie stores are in Syracuse and Connecticut.

According to the Albany Business Review, the new shop will be located between Talbots and Peaches Cafe. Talbots recently remodeled and downsized, making room for the new addition. This move is part of a trend where big-name retailers are opting for smaller, boutique-style spaces instead of massive mall locations. This is an effort to make the shopping experience more personal and inviting.

But Anthropologie isn’t the only exciting name joining the plaza! Vineyard Vines, famous for its preppy styles and pink whale logo, is set to open next year on the north side of the plaza. Athleta, the athletic wear brand from Gap Inc., is also moving in, relocating from Crossgates to a spot near the White House Black Market and a newly created green space.

Local businesses are thriving here, too. Simone’s Kitchen, a popular local eatery, opened its third location in late November. Union Hall Supply Co., a men’s clothing boutique, started welcoming shoppers in October. Plus, The Balloonary, an Albany-based party supply shop, is running a holiday pop-up.

Stuyvesant Plaza, now owned by WS Development, has been busy upgrading the center and bringing in a mix of national and local retailers, including names like Sur La Table and Warby Parker. It’s shaping up to be a shopping hotspot.
