Back in November, there were rumblings of a Costco being built near Crossgates Mall. Now it looks like we may be one step closer to that becoming a reality. In November, the Times Union reported that the first Costco in the area was being proposed to be built at the Rapp Road entrance of Crossgates Mall. According to a Guilderland town zoning official, the site would use sixteen point five acres of land and it would include a one thousand fifty-eight square-foot Costco.

Now it seems that they are one step closer to making the warehouse store a reality. News Channel 13 is reporting that town officials have received applications for light poles proposed on the property of where the Costco would be built. These would be used for vehicle safety and comply with zoning laws. The public comment period regarding Costco is now open. The planning board is set to meet again for a public hearing on March 11th at 6 pm.
