Shaker High School Flame Throwing Pitcher Signed by LA Dodgers
What's in the North Colonie Water?
We're not sure what's in the North Colonie water, but man, Shaker High School pumps out Major League Baseball-ready arms like it's a side hustle.
A recent Shaker grad, who only turned 18 years old in June, signed a very lucrative contract with the defending World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, this week.
And while this standout flame-thrower might not be taking the field with Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts for a few years to come, he has a chance to be the third pitcher from the Latham area in recent years to contribute on an MLB roster.
Tommy Case: Shaker High School Class of 2025
Case, who just finished up his senior season in June, signed a contract Monday with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an undrafted free agent and had been playing summer collegiate league ball with the Trenton Thunder.

Dominant Force on the Mound
A dominant force on the mound, Tommy Case was named Upstate Suburban Council Player of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
Heading into the playoffs, he had yet to allow an earned run. He wrapped up his senior season with an impressive 6-1 record, a 0.57 ERA, and 72 strikeouts, surrendering just 13 hits over 37 innings pitched.
Case has a chance to be the third pitcher from Shaker in recent years to star on an MLB roster.
Jeff Hoffman, class of 2011, pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays and currently plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. Tommy Kahnle, class of 2009, pitched meaningful games for the New York Yankees and is currently on the Detroit Tigers roster.
All of us here at GNA wish him well as he looks to flame-throw his way through the ranks!
