Awkward! Savannah Guthrie Tries to Prank Today Co-Hosts and it Tanks Hard! [watch]

Oh, man!  I hate when a plan just doesn't come together!

The producers of the "Today" show and Savannah Guthrie tried to pull the Oreo-toothpaste prank on her co-hosts yesterday.

That's where you replace the cream filling with toothpaste.

And she KIND OF pulled it off.  Except it seemed like they all knew it was coming . . . and the producers gave MATT LAUER a NORMAL Oreo for some reason. (Diva??)

Even AL ROKER immediately said it was lame.  Cause it was.
