Winter Weather Advisory Issued: Multiple Storms Heading To Upstate NY
Old Man WInter is staying busy this week with 2 more winter storms tracking toward the Capital Region and Upstate New York.
While we have not gotten that one big monster snowstorm yet this winter, all the smaller snowfalls have added up to leave a decent amount of snowpack on the ground.
Later this week two more winter storms are tracking toward the area to add to that total.
National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for eastern New York and Western Massachusetts, including the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, from 4 am to 6 pm Thursday.
Snow is expected to start early Thursday, switching over to mixed precipitation later in the day. Snow and sleet accumulations will reach 1 to 3 inches along with a glaze of ice. Areas further north will see higher amounts of snowfall, which you can see below from NWS, broken down by local towns and cities.
More Snow Forecast For The Capital Region This Weekend
Once we get through Thursday's storm, we set our sights on the weekend and a 90 percent chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday, according to the NWS. Snowfall predictions should come into focus closer to the weekend, but right now the Weather Channel is calling for a few more inches of snow with this storm.
