More April Snow Coming To Capital Region Tonight
Winter is just not ready to give in yet: another round of wet snow is making its way to the Capital Region to wrap the week.
Does April snow bring May flowers?
This is just getting ridiculous at this point. We know April weather in Upstate New York can still be a wildcard, but typically at this point we are leaning more toward milder temperatures and leaving winter behind. Not this year!
While we have not had crazy amounts of snow, we have consistently had snow showers and spats of wet snow on the forecast to start April. That trend continues to wrap up the work week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), rain showers will arrive this afternoon (Thursday, April 10th) and will transition to wet snow. Snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are expected, with higher accumulations expected at higher elevations in the Catskills and Adirondacks. Valley areas can expect a coating to 1 inch of wet snow.
You can see local snowfall predictions from NWS on the map below:
When Will It Warm Up Again?
According to the News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast, temperatures will remain in the high 40s to low 50s through the weekend, with our next 60+ degree day arriving on Monday.
