Seven Capital Region Shoe Stores To Close
More stores continue to close because of online sales and now a major shoe store chain is closing its doors. It will affect seven Capital Region shoe stores. Another chain store is going out of business and it affects a handful of shoe stores in our area. According to WIVB, Payless ShoeSource is going to file for bankruptcy and will close all of their stores.
Payless ShoeSource will declare bankruptcy for the second time and it plans to close two thousand three hundred of its stores. They have been trying to find a company to take them over for years but they have no buyers. So now they will have to liquidate. They have over four hundred million dollars in loans.
There are seven Payless ShoeSource stores in the Capital Region. They are in Crossgates Mall, Wilton Mall, Colonie Center, Clifton Park Center, Via Port, Westgate and the Shoppes at Greenbush Commons.
