Last year, major sponsors gave Paula Deen the boot as controversy raged over her past use of racial slurs. Her new cookbook was canceled. She gave a weird, tearful apology to Matt Lauer on “The Today Show,” and then she dropped out of the spotlight.
But, as she was laying low, her fan base was not.  Subscriptions to her magazine has gone up a reported 40%, her public appearances continually sell out, and that has given Najafi Cos., an investment firm, enough confidence to toss her a staggering deal worth between $75-$100 million!
In the past Paula had just let other companies use her name and likeness to sell their products but this new deal will show a new side of Paula, as she develops her own way of doing things.
Deen is reportedly pursuing a new TV deal, but nothing has been announced. She's also keeping hushed about her new retail partners and sponsorships.
But one thing is for sure, she's back!  And she's got a cool $75 million to get started!
