NY Gov. Hochul Saves Grandpa’s Hilarious “PB4WEGO” License Plate
Urine Trouble
A Long Island grandfather with a sense of humor and an affinity for dad jokes just scored a pretty funny victory thanks to a call from New York’s governor.
Seth Bykofsky, 69, of West Hempstead, thought he was about to lose his longtime vanity license plate reading “PB4WEGO” after the New York State DMV determined it was inappropriate and ordered it revoked.

The plate, a playful reminder to “pee before we go,” had been on his vehicle for more than five years without issue.
After receiving the notice in January, Bykofsky removed the plates but didn’t give up. According to the NY Post, he spent weeks appealing the decision and eventually reached out to Governor Kathy Hochul for help.

To his surprise, she personally called him — and delivered some good news.
Hochul told Bykofsky she found the plate “hilarious” and supported the message behind it, saying everyone could use a reminder to make a quick bathroom stop before hitting the road. With that, the state allowed him to keep the now-famous tag.
Police Stopped Him - to Laugh About It
Bykofsky says the plate was inspired by years of reminding his children and grandchildren to use the bathroom before leaving home, a phrase that clearly stuck.
He’s driven through more than a dozen states with the plate and says it’s never offended anyone. In fact, he claims police once pulled him over just to laugh about it.
The relieved grandpa says he’s excited to put the plate back on his car and get back on the road.
