Family is the most important thing to me.

I can remember growing up and while I was an only child, I was always surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles and especially my grandparents.

By the time I was 8-years old, I had lost both of my Dads parents. So at an early age, I knew how important each moment truly was with everyone I cared about. I also treasure the photographs and items that were given to me by them or what were once theirs. Everything has a sentimental quality.

That's why one of the gifts my Nana gave to me on Christmas morning stood out as the best gift she could have ever given me.

I don't remember when exactly it was that she started calling me her "Sunshine," but it stuck and she loves to give me things surrounding that nickname. This Christmas, my Mom actually found the item at Michaels craft store and said she had a project for Nana to tackle. As Nana has said, she'll do anything for her "Sunshine." That included taking her time, with her shaky hands to color in little by little this amazing picture. She even signed it with the year.

The amount of money is never what matters, it's the thought and meaning behind the gift given. I'll cherish this gift for the rest of my years.
