Man Involved In A Police Chase Also Had His Kids In The Car While Allegedly Driving Drunk

A 25-year-old man was sent to jail after he led Amsterdam Police on a brief chase, with his children in the car. He was also allegedly drunk when he did this.

In a story from News 10 ABC, Clifford Morway, II was seen by the police driving his vehicle aggressively. This happened on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, on Market Street in Amsterdam.

Morway took off when police went to stop him. During the chase, he drove over a curb and onto a sidewalk. That stopped the vehicle, but not Morway. He got out of the vehicle and continued his getaway attempt on foot. That ended with a struggle with the officers.

More police officers arrived and found both air bags deployed and the two children were in the back seat. Authorities took the children and brought them to St. Mary’s Hospital and then released to their mom.

Morway has been charged for a number of things including DWI, Aggravated DWI With A Child In The Vehicle and Endangering The Welfare Of  A child.
