Five Shot, One Dead - Overnight Shooting Spree is More Bad News for Albany

Middle of the night or broad daylight - holidays, weekends, and every day in between - gun violence in the streets of Albany knows no holidays and doesn't take a day off.

The sound of multiple gunshots sent shockwaves through "center square" in Albany on Sunday. During broad daylight, at around 4:40 in the afternoon, a man fired his handgun in the direction of two women fighting on the corners of State and Lark Street in Albany.

According to the Albany Police, a 27-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with that shooting that rattled residents who live in an area on Lark Street where people like to hang out with friends and family, walk their dogs and chat with neighbors.
