Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over In Full Force
In a continuing effort to keep everyone safe on the roads this holiday season, Governor Cuomo has announced its "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" project is in full swing. According to www.governor.ny.gov, the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign is underway. It began on December 11th and will run through Wednesday, January 1st. This crackdown is to cut down on alcohol and drug-related traffic accidents.
You will see more New York State Troopers on the road, patrols, and checkpoints set up to crack down on impaired driving during the busy holiday driving season. During last year's campaign, New York State Police arrested four thousand one hundred forty-two people for impaired driving and wrote one hundred forty-four thousand one hundred ninety-seven tickets for other traffic violations.
All sixty-two counties across New York state are participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" program.
It's sad that we still need these campaigns to ensure that people don't drink and drive. But I am happy that this is in place to ensure my family's safety on the roads this holiday season.
