Card or Gift Card? [POLL]

Which would you rather receive this holiday season?  A gift card or something that Santa picked out for you?  Just wondering….

According to the National Retail Federation, the average consumer will spend $163 on gift cards this year.  So they are popular, people.  My question, however is this:  Do you consider a gift card any less personal than an actual gift?  Would you rather get a gift that you quite possibly would never use, like a paisley tie?

Please leave your vote in the comments.  Is it gift or gift card?  For my money (no pun intended), I love gift cards.  I want the choice, but that's just me….
