New Yorkers Looking For Seasonal Jobs Amazon Is Hiring Thousands
If you’re hoping to pick up extra work for the holidays, Amazon might have just what you need. The company is adding 8,500 seasonal jobs across New York as part of its nationwide plan to hire 250,000 people for the busy season.
In Rochester alone, there are 1,600 openings, plus another 100 at rural delivery stations in Conklin and Granville. According to Amazon, these roles usually fill fast because they fit so many different needs. Some people take them for extra income, while others see them as a chance to start a longer career.
The company says seasonal workers enjoy flexible hours, good pay, and the satisfaction of helping deliver holiday cheer to millions of customers. Most of these jobs involve packing, sorting, or delivering packages—work that keeps everything running smoothly when the holiday rush hits full speed.
Amazon has been growing steadily across New York. The company opened a 2.6 million square foot robotics fulfillment center in Gates earlier this year, now home to over 2,000 employees. There are also newer facilities in Greece, Henrietta, Ogden, Conklin, Westchester, Montgomery, and on Staten Island, creating a wide network of local opportunities.
Seasonal employees earn an average of just over $19 an hour, while full-time and part-time Amazon workers make around $23 with benefits. Job listings will continue to appear every week through December. If you’re ready to jump in before the rush, you can find more information HERE.
