Albany Trash-Talker Goes Viral on TikTok [VIDEO]

If there's one thing I learned it's that when it comes to the Capital Region, people are going to  have their jokes.  It personally doesn't offend me. I grew up in this area and I live and love it, and if you have something funny to say about my hometown, life's too short - let's have a laugh. That's exactly what I did when I came across this viral TikTok made over a week ago by a 22-year-old woman who goes by the name of Hannah @hannaht518. 

Last week, a video she made about her Albany dating life went TikTok viral and it's been viewed nearly 200,000 times and has garnered thousands of "likes" and comments from people who couldn't agree with her more.

In most of her videos, Hannah stands in front of her bathroom mirror with a glass of wine and spends 20-30 seconds riffing "what the grocery store you shop at says about you" rants as well as dating complaints and other random musings. For the most, she's pretty funny, clever and relatable.

This particular rant starts off, "So...dating's not going well at all and I've come to the conclusion that it's not me, it's where I live which is Albany, New York."

In a nutshell, here's what Hannah says in her rant about "dating in Albany"

• The types of people who move to Albany do it to be in a cult, like NXIVM.
• The hot people go to NYC, not Albany.
• Upstate in not a "liberal paradise."  Hannah claims that if you drive 10 minutes outside of the State Capital Building and you "might as well be in North Dakota."
• The Capital Region is "Trump City full of backwoods conspiracy theorists" who love Stewart's coffee and go snowmobiling in the winter.
• She can't afford to move
• So she drinks
