Do you know where your child has been in the last month?  A new report from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration claims about six-percent of American youths aged 12 to 14 have had at least one drink containing alcohol in the past month. That equals out to be about 710-thousand adolescents.  Wow, right?  Even better, roughly half of  them got the alcohol from a family member, or at least obtained it at home.  Who would have guessed when you leave your "child" alone, alcohol is something you have to worry about them getting into.

The report is taken from 44-thousand responses to a survey that was conducted between 2006 and 2009.  You should also know, that the statistics include over a 100-thousand who were given drinks by their parents or guardians.  SAMHSA Administrator Pamela Hyde warns adults that providing alcohol to children can expose them to all the risks of alcohol abuse and put them on a path to possible addiction.
