Sometimes it's the little things that mean so much to our troops overseas. While many of our brave men and women won't be home for the holidays, there is an Upstate New York farm that is delivering a special part of Christmas directly to them.

Saratoga County Farm Sending Special Part of Christmas Overseas

Ellms Farms in Ballston Spa was the site for gathering and sending over one hundred fifty Christmas trees to service men and women overseas. It's an annual event called Trees for Troops.

Many volunteers from a variety of military agencies pitched in, including the Air National Guard and the New York Army, plus Capital Region families and friends. This is the twentieth year for this special program, and Ellms Farms has been a part of it since 2005.

Trees for Troops had another amazing year in 2023. They picked up sixteen thousand two hundred fifty-two trees from fifty-six different locations. They delivered them to ninety-four bases in the U.S. across six branches of service plus one National Guard Center.

Service men and women say that the trees offer a sense of home and that family and friends support them overseas during the holiday season.

It's a small gesture that reminds our troops that we want them to celebrate the holidays and we appreciate the sacrifices they make for us.
