Pickleball seems to be the hottest sport. The first indoor pickleball facility in the Capital Region located in the former Kmart in Latham has an opening date.

Pickleball is the sport that is sweeping the nation and now the Capital Region will get its first indoor club. It is almost ready to open in an old Kmart location.

The old Kmart building on Watervliet Shaker Road in Latham is becoming an entertainment and sports destination. The Scarlet Knife, an upscale restaurant just recently opened and more construction is on the way including a new sports complex.

If you travel in the Clifton Park area you already know how congested it is. Soon a Chick-fil-A will open and then a Bass Pro Shop in that same area. Now plans are moving forward with developing the old Kmart site in Shoppers World Plaza.

It was announced that the old Latham Kmart was getting a nearly twenty thousand square foot farm-to-table restaurant and construction has begun. Now there are more tenants that have been added to fill up the empty Kmart building.

If you're willing to take a road trip, you can still shop some of the Capital Region's retro retail stores.

A developer is proposing a new complex with 100 luxury apartments where the old Clifton Park KMart currently stands.

Toys-R-Us broke our hearts last year when they announced the closing of it's retail stores in the area.  Today it was announced that another local big box store, this one with ties to the Capital Region since the 80's, is closing it's doors for good.

Because of the popularity of online shopping, department stores continue to close. This time, another Sears store in our area will close its doors.

When Latham Circle Mall closed for good, so did the only movie theater in the Latham area. Now there are new plans to put a movie theater back into Latham at a different location.

When Toys R Us and Babies R Us closed their stores, customers were left scrambling to redeem gift cards. Now another store is stepping up and will accept those unused Toys R Us and Babies R Us gift cards. Good news there are four locations in and around the Capital Region.
