A developer is proposing a new aparment complex where the old Clifton Park KMart currently stands.

Every time my wife Stacy and I go to the Market 32 Plaza off Route 146 in the Clifton Park, we always think - someone needs to do something with this old KMart space. Well, now we may have an answer.

According to a Times Union story, a developer has a submitted a plan to town officials to build 100 luxury apartments on the site. The complex would include 2 four story buildings, covered parking, a small park and would remain connected to the shopping plaza via sidewalks. The complex would also feature roof top terraces and a dog run. The Times Union says this plan replaces tow others the town ultimately turned down because they did not fit with the town's plan of "...introducing walkable residential development."

As a Clifton Park resident, i think re-purposing the space at the old KMart is a great idea. I hate seeing empty buildings and under-utilized space and this would give a nice new feel to the Shoppers World Plaza.
