When Latham Circle Mall closed for good, so did the only movie theater in the Latham area. Now there are new plans to put a movie theater back into Latham at a different location.

When Toys R Us and Babies R Us closed their stores, customers were left scrambling to redeem gift cards. Now another store is stepping up and will accept those unused Toys R Us and Babies R Us gift cards. Good news there are four locations in and around the Capital Region.

So I took the family to K Mart yesterday in Latham.  It's closing, so everything is supposed to be marked down to these mega-cheap, over-the-top, sale prices. I found the mark-downs to be underwhelming.  And, in fact, didn't buy anything...

Kmart is in the news again, but this time it's not because the store is closing permanently.

Over the last few months there have been a number of Kmart stores closing around the Albany area.

WGNA has learned the the Kmart stores in Latham and in Clifton Park will be closing.  Liquidation sales will begin in the next couple of weeks.  Employees of both stores will be eligible for severance pay when eligible, or will be able to transfer to another area KMart or Sears store...

I love a viral ad - and lately no one has done it better than Kmart!  Here's their latest ad for Joe Boxer Shorts! Very nice! Here are a couple other Kmart spots I think you'll enjoy! SHIP MY PANTS BIG GAS SAVINGS I'm not getting paid to promote these ads, but I love to spread a smile, and I think a business that has a daring ad campaign should be rewarded...

This is one of those moments that make you scratch your head and wonder if you really saw what you thought that you saw.
