In recent years we have see the disappearance of several brand name retail stores and restaurant chains around the Nation. Bed, Bath and Beyond and Christmas Tree Shops are 2 brands that have closed their doors in the last year. According to CNN Rite Aid and Walgreens have been struggling and CVS plan to close nearly 1,000 store by the end of 2024.

FRIENDLY'S - 23 New York locations left in 2024. With the exception of Massachusetts, New York State has more Friendly's locations than any other state in the Nation.

GUITAR CENTER - 14 New York locations left in 2024. California, Texas and Florida are the only states with more Guitar Center locations than New York.

HOOTERS - 3 New York locations left in 2024. There are only 302 Hooters locations left in the Nation with New York locations in Albany, Farmingdale and Fresh Meadows.

GOLDEN CORRAL - 1 New York location left in 2024 and it's in the Bronx. The Albany location on Central Avenue is still standing but looks abandoned.

KMART - 1 New York location left in 2024. At it's peak Kmart had nearly 2,500 locations in America and today there are only 8 locations left with 1 in Bridgehampton, New York.
