Many cities and towns in and around the Capital Region hold farmers' markets throughout the summer. Now Albany County has announced its own to begin this weekend.
The Capital Region and surrounding towns have the best farmers' markets and roadside stands anywhere. There is one farmer's market that I look forward to each season and it's opening this weekend.
The weather is getting nicer and some restrictions are being lifted which means the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market is heading back outside. The first outdoor market returns this weekend in Riverfront Park.
If you want to support our local farmers and load up on some of the best produce around, this will be come as good news. Two local farmers markets have created an an online ordering service complete with curbside pick-up featuring some of the areas best produce, meats, syrups and other goods.
This is awesome and I appreciate that the city of Albany is encouraging young entrepreneurs to sell their own stuff, learn some business skills and keep their own cash at Albany's weekly Washington Park Farmers Market.
