Yesterday, I told you which of our beautiful cities/towns were considered the safest in the state. Today, lets get to the highest crime rate! Okay, I shouldn't sound so excited about that. The exclamation point was maybe the wrong choice of punctuation given the subject at hand. But, still, lets get to the facts.

Crime is on the rise in Albany and business owners and some residents will tell you that safety is becoming a big problem in our capital city.  I've lived in Albany the majority of my life and I rarely, if ever, feel threatened.  Clearly though, I'm in the minority. Does Albany feel unsafe to you?

I love the tin man as much as the next gal. Miranda Lambert's song, "Tin Man" is superb. Neither of these things mean that you're going to find me out and about on a random night in June driving around dressed as him.

I'd like to think if I were in this situation that I'd be brave enough to defend myself but I don't know if I could. I give all of the credit in the world to these two for not only supporting and looking out for each other but for the business they've built.

Should we be worried that we are on the list or happy we aren't the number one on it?

Well, this is actually quite terrifying but you'e got to give it to him for his ingenuity.

I'm obsessed with true crime shows and anything on that channel ID Discovery. One show that I can't seem to live without is 'Unsolved Mysteries'.

Sad news from Rotterdam. It's sickening how some people can treat animals.

Gun violence and the topic about what should happen with our gun laws is definitely a sore subject. As a gun owner, it seems that we are constantly on the defense from actions of irresponsible gun owners or criminals.

There are a couple different aspects to this crime ring. Breaking into cars and scammed checks are only a few things they do.

The Times Union published a great article about the safest New York towns and cities. In the article they used recently published F.B.I. crime statistics to find the areas in the Capital Region with the lowest violent crime. You might find some of the results surprising.

According to an article on News 10 ABC's website, a formal Lasalle teacher is accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student. The teacher, at the time of the alleged relationship, was 28 and the student was 17. The teacher is also denying the accusations and claims to be a victim of extortion.
