Subtle Differences Between Key Largo, Florida And Albany, NY

This past weekend I visited my mother in Key Largo, Florida, which is the first "Key" as you travel from Miami to Key West.  It's famous for the 1948 movie of the same name starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. While there, I noticed- being the very astute person that I am-that there are distinct differences between Key Largo and Albany. Duhhhh!

For example, in Albany, your second car is a car.  Not here.  Nope!

In Albany, you get all excited each spring to mow your lawn ( yea, right). In the Keys,  white is the new green.  It's all stones!  Now THAT's exciting!

InKey Largo, , when you go to the dairy isle in the grocery store, you are much more likely to find a "bottle of red" than a "bottle of skim"

In Albany, senior citizens jump for the early bird special. In Key Largo, seniors jump too- into the water, that is (that's my mom, by the way)

And sometimes, on rare occasions, out of airplanes (well, 85 year old Woody Woods does!)

I had the pleasure of meeting this gentleman on the trip.  Did I mention he was 85?  Let me say that again for those who missed it-HE'S 85!! (oh and so is my mother!!!).

So, if you don't count these differences, the two cities are exactly the same!.  LOL!  OMG!  I had such a great time, and I was only there 3 days!  You should make it a priority to spend some time down there and find the subtle differences on your own.  Heck, I'll even give you a link here to the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce at no extra charge.  And after surfing, should you find that you like Albany better, then here's our  Albany Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce  website.   (And you know I'm being facetious.  Our area actually has alot more to do on a year round basis, to be quite honest.  Don't want to bite the hand that feeds us!)
