New York State is focusing on the latest technology to try to reduce one of our country's senior population's greatest challenges, loneliness. Researchers from the state's Office of the Aging is using a technology called ElliQ that is designed to reduce a person's feeling of isolation and being out of touch.

The recent closure of a community center has over seventy people out of work and a lot of parents wondering how they will find childcare.

The road can be a dangerous place, for anyone, and there was a post on Reddit that asked about new driving laws. How would you feel about a law that would require people over 70 to pass a test to continue to drive?

He's Justus Belfield.  He's 98 years old and a proud Army vet. He passed recently, but had an amazing life with his wife of 72 years.  This senior citizen's incredible patriotism is a great incentive for all of us to donate to an amazing facility right in our area - Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I'm sorry, but this was my favorite video of the week by far.  At least it didn't make me cry, wince, or want to vomit for a change.

Sometimes something as simple as a phone call or knocking on the door of an elderly neighbor or relative in the bitter cold weather we are experiencing can literally save a life.

Albany police are still looking for for suspects in the weekend assault of a 70 year old Loudonville man.

You always think that advanced video techniques and digital editing and computers are for the young.  Too old of techno? Heck no.

Ok - call me old, but I found a great app.  Don't laugh- I've mentioned it before.  It's the Reader's Digest for the iPad.  It's awesome , and they had the top viewed YouTube videos on there.  This one got over 9 million hits.

Updated at 10 p.m. on November 30: The Meals On Wheels van was stolen exactly a week ago, and there is a happy ending to this story. Today, exactly one week later, the good folks at SEFCU donated a new Dodge Grand Caravan. This is great news, and they will continue their great service to the Albany area. A van belonging to the Meals On Wheels Albany branch was stolen earlier today.
